Apple has today sent out emails to their employees and certified service providers regarding the Mac Pro. Specifically, replacements on the video card of the late 2013 model. According to the email, some Mac Pros made between February 8, 2015 and April 11, 2015 had problems. The issues that some models faced were “Distorted or scrambled video on the external display, no video on the external display even though the computer is on, computer freezes or restarts unexpectedly, or computer will not start up.”
While there is no tool on Apple’s website to see if your model is affected, you just have to go to the store and get everything fixed. If you are experiencing any of these issues, take your Mac Pro into a store before May 30, 2018 and they’ll replace your video card for free. According to the notice from Apple, the repair time is about 3-5 days.
