Apple Posts Casting Call for New TV Show

Apple has today posted a casting call to developers for their new original TV show “Planet of the Apps”. Apple is looking for developers located in San Francisco, Austin, New York, and Los Angeles to participate in the show. Developers must have one or more iOS, macOS, tvOS, or watchOS apps live or in beta by October. If selected, the developers’ apps will be featured on the App Store and will receive up to $10 million in funding.

Right now the details of the show are pretty vague. All that we know so far is that this is an unscripted show about apps and the people who make them. The $10 million will come if the developer makes it to the end of the show, so we’re not sure if this is a type of game show or just providing information on how apps are made.

Filming beings in late 2016 and early 2017 in Los Angeles. Developers have until August 26, 2016 to submit for the casting call. If you are a developer interested you can learn more here.
