When Apple introduced the iPhone 6 the only major difference between the larger and smaller models were the cameras. One had digital image stabilization, where the larger device had optical stabilization. Now, according to photos of a purported iPhone 7 camera module obtained by NWE, it looks like the smaller 4.7-inch iPhone 7 will indeed have optical stabilization.
As you can see in the photo, there is more space around the lens on the camera for the Plus models. This is where the sensor will move around in giving you a more stable photo or video. The camera for the smaller iPhones is locked in place and there is no where for the lens to move. In the iPhone 7 camera, there is space around it showing that there is indeed optical stabilization.
Another thing that this leaked camera module shows us is that the lens is a little bigger than the one on the iPhone 6s. This follows the rumors that there will be a larger lens on the iPhone 7 with more of a camera bump.
The iPhone 7 is expected to be announced September 7th and have pre-orders start on the 9th. It’s rumored to launch two weeks after that.
