Apple Delays Launch of AirPods

It seems like the launch of Apple’s upcoming AirPods have been delayed. In a statement today provided to TechCrunch, Apple said that they’re not wanting to launch a product that is not ready yet and need “a little more time”. According to Apple’s website, we’re going to see these late October. That’s what Apple said at their media event a month ago, but now it seems like we’re going to see them even later, like November.
“The early response to AirPods has been incredible. We don’t believe in shipping a product before it’s ready, and we need a little more time before AirPods are ready for our customers,” an Apple spokesperson said to TechCrunch.
AirPods are Apple’s take on wireless earbuds. With the iPhone 7, there is no headphone jack, which means that you’re stuck using Lightning and Bluetooth headphones. They’re basically the same thing as EarPods, but wireless. They use Apple’s new W1 chip, which allows them to connect to your phone by pulling up a connection page when nearby. AirPods are priced at $159 and should hopefully launch within a month.
