CES 2017: LG Puts Amazon Alexa on a Fridge

At CES, LG today unveiled a new fridge sporting a 29-inch touch screen with webOS and Amazon Alexa. Other than the screen, this is just a pretty normal French door refrigerator with a freezer and ice maker. However, we’re all here for that screen. Powering it is LG’s favorite operating system webOS. You can do things like set the temperature of the fridge and freezer, adjust some settings, lock the door, and select ice type. However, this can also use the camera inside to show you what’s in the fridge, track expiration dates, and even take commands thanks to Amazon’s Alexa assistant.

LG has put webOS on their refrigerators before, but this is the first time that we have seen Alexa built into one. That now means that you can control things like your lights, play Jeopardy, and more, from the comfort of your own kitchen! Some of the other things you can do include making shopping lists, check the weather, and more.

LG has not yet announced a release date or price for this device.
