As promised, Apple today updated their website with more information on how to apply for a WWDC 2017 scholarship. As always, it’s open to current students 13 or over and STEM organization members who do not have the funds to go. You will need to have either a free or paid developer account in order to apply. Unlike previous years where you had to make an app, this year they’re changing things up and are requiring a Swift Playground.
According to the requirements, it must be an interactive and well design program using Swift Playgrounds, made on either Mac or iPad. It must also last under 3 minutes. According to the website they will judge based on technical accomplishment, creativity of ideas, and content of the written responses.
Submissions will open March 27 at 10:00 AM and close on April 2 at 5:00 PM. Winners will be notified in the evening on April 21. You can learn more and view requirements here.
